The whole process takes approximately 12 minutes and produces a platelet concentration of that native plasma.

Can PRP be Preserved:

For often treatments freshly prepared PRP is used, it needs daily draws of platelet-rich plasma. However, it can also be stored or preserved for later usage. The present research has explored the possibility of using stored PRP without freezing it and just by storing PRP under variable conditions and evaluating growth factor.

Freshly drawn Platelet Rich Plasma can be stored in oxygen permeable and non-oxygen permeable containers under conditions of constant stirring, in the duration of 5-8 days. Yet platelets are more stable in the non-oxygen permeable containers for better usage.
